Questions

Common questions.

Is this legal advice?

No. It’s a practical, commercial view from someone who has administered building contracts from both sides. For legal questions, your solicitor should review the final contract.

The builder sent me their contract. Is that a problem?

Not necessarily, but a builder’s own contract is usually written with the builder in mind. A review shows where the risk sits and what’s worth negotiating.

What are liquidated damages?

A pre-agreed daily amount the builder pays if they finish late without an approved extension. Setting the right rate protects you without scaring off good builders.
